Corning Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation


History

The Corning Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation was developed to provide grants to organizations who will assist entrepreneurs in launching new businesses in the Corning Area; providing educational programs to assist business owners to strengthen and grow their businesses; developing a resource library, local community libraries, schools and universities for persons interested in business subjects; to develop resource services to strengthen area visitor programs operated by the State of New York and local governments to assist tourists in the area; to establish a resource center for Industry Best Practices to benefit the local community, assist local government in the development of such programs.  All of the forgoing aid in the development of jobs for the area and effectively reduce the burden on government to provide funds for these programs and decrease unemployment.


Today

The Corning Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation as a 501c3 provides tax-exempt funding opportunities to strengthen our membership business-focused and educational programs, empowering and connecting Members with vital sustainability resources.  Current programs include the annual Educational Program Series and the Leadership Steuben Program.

Leadership Steuben Program
The Leadership Steuben Program is an innovative experiential training initiative committed to developing key leadership characteristics. The program consists of a multi-faceted curriculum which includes, but not limited to, a Community Project Requirement, Innovative modules focusing on the importance of Partnering, Effective Presentation and Communication Skills, Visioning, as well as Strategic and Tactical Planning. Attendance is limited to individuals with a strong desire and commitment to enhance skills, knowledge, and behavior.
