DESCRIPTION:Veraison & Harvest Experience\n\nTime: September 2019\n\nLocation: 1886 Reserve Room\nAvailable Fridays\, Saturdays\, and Sundays at 11 AM and 2 PM. \n\n\n\nUndoubtedly the most beautiful time in the vineyard where the green grapes change to shades of yellow and red. The tour begins with a hands-on grape sampling exercise where we figure out the ripeness of a vineyard block. A wine educator explains the internal changes of a grape during veraison and considerations leading up to the decision to start harvesting. We will explain the difference of hand-picking versus machine-picking and why technology plays a major part. Depending on the harvest timeline\, a demonstration of hand-sorting and pressing may be possible. At the conclusion of the tour\, a seated flight of wines are paired with the chef's seasonal creative bites. \n\n\n\nPlease arrive at our 1886 Reserve Tasting Room at least 5 minutes before the starting time of the event. Just south of the main winery and tasting rooms is the stone house named Chateau Frank. Once you pull into the driveway and park\, walk towards the rear of the building and you will see stairs leading up to the 1886 Reserve Room. The event will feature some walking in our vineyards\, so we suggest wearing suitable shoes.
