DESCRIPTION:Introduce little ones to the Museum through FREE storytelling\, puppet shows\, music\, and lots of fun!  \n\n \n\nDressed in full regalia\, with flute\, song\, dance\, story\, and sign language\, Robin Pease of Kulture Kids performs the story of a Hidatsa Native American woman who was given a special blue glass beaded belt...and then lost it.\n\n \n\nAudiences participate in the telling of this story\, which uncovers the important role of glass beads and other items as trade goods between Native Americans and early-American explorers. This customized performance is presented through a special arrangement with Young Audiences of Rochester by Kulture Kids' Robin Pease\, an Ohio-based Native American storyteller of Mohawk descent.\n\n \n\nCollection Connection: Look for beads and blue glass in the collection.\n\n \n\nThe Southeast Steuben County Library will be on site for each Little Gather Family session at 11 am\, offering selected pieces from their collection centered around the Little Gather theme of the week. Bring your local library card to check out these items and further enhance your Little Gather experience at home.\n\n \n\nBring your family at 11 am. Groups can attend a special 9:30 am show.
