SUMMARY:Living Out Loud: The Stories We Carry
DESCRIPTION:Living Out Loud: The Stories We Carry\n\nThe ARTS Council & Dante Acquavella\n\nMonday\, October 19\, 6-7:30pm\n\n \n\nJoin The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes in collaboration with Dante Acquavella for Living Out Loud: The Stories We Carry\, a storytelling workshop for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. This workshop will be held at The ARTS Council\, 79 West Market St. in Corning\, NY on Monday\, October 19\, from 6-7:30pm.\n\n \n\nSome stories we tell all the time. Others we rarely say out loud. Some are big\, defining moments\, while others are ordinary memories that have stayed with us for reasons we may not entirely understand.\n\n \n\nLiving Out Loud returns in October with The Stories We Carry\, an evening of conversation\, storytelling\, and creative exploration for LGBTQIA+ adults in the Southern Finger Lakes\, facilitated by Dante Acquavella.\n\n \n\nThrough simple prompts\, theatre-based exercises\, and conversation\, we'll explore the stories that have followed us\, the ones we've inherited\, and the ones we may understand differently now. You don't need to prepare anything or consider yourself a storyteller. Come as you are\, share what you'd like\, and help us see where the stories take us.\n\n \n\nThis event is free and open to all members of the LGBTQIA+ community 16 and older.\n\n \n\nQuestions? Reach out Casey Winston\, Director of Public Programs\, at casey@eARTS.org.\n\n \n\nAbout Dante:\n\nDante Acquavella (they/them) is a theatre-trained practitioner and the founder of Intermission Arts & Advocacy\, a creative initiative using theatre and storytelling to build connection and belonging. Bringing together professional theatre training and more than a decade of nonprofit and organizational development experience\, Dante creates opportunities for dialogue\, reflection\, and shared understanding through the arts. As a transmasculine person\, Dante's own experience of navigating exclusion and finding belonging shapes their commitment to creating spaces where LGBTQIA+ community members can share their stories\, explore their experiences\, and be met with curiosity and compassion.
