Poets are encouraged to read a poem based on Tom's prompt or something of their own selection. His poems have been performed by the East Haddam Stage Co. and he has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. He was a co-founder of the Bloomfield Library's Wintonbury Poetry Series (now in its 28th year) and was a mentor for the American School for the Deaf poetry collaboration with Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts.
