Lafayette Wattles was not one of those people. After he finally came around and discovered the wonders of the word\, he decided to become a writer in the hopes of sharing those wonders with others. Lafayette Wattles was the name of his great-great-grandfather\, a full-blooded Sioux. When he decided to become a writer\, he wanted to honor that part of his past as a way to celebrate this new adventure\, so he adopted the name for his writer self. Lafayette recently published his chapbook "Hurricane\," (Foothills Publishing\, 2022) about his experience during the Hurricane Agnes Flood of 1972 in Elmira and Corning. He has published over 140 poems in print and online journals including "Boxcar Poetry Review\," "The Louisville Review\," "Hunger Mountain\," and "Cicada."\n\n \n\n*Zoom Info:\n\nThe ARTS Council is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.\n\nTopic: Poets in Play: Lafayette Wattles\n\nTime: Nov 14\, 2023 07:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting\n\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/84514918084\n\nMeeting ID: 845 1491 8084\n\n---\n\nOne tap mobile\n\n+16469313860\,\,84514918084# US\n\n+19292056099\,\,84514918084# US (New York)\n\n---\n\nDial by your location\n\n +1 646 931 3860 US\n\n +1 929 205 6099 US (New York)\n\n +1 301 715 8592 US (Washington DC)\n\n +1 305 224 1968 US\n\n +1 309 205 3325 US\n\n +1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago)\n\n +1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose)\n\n +1 689 278 1000 US\n\n +1 719 359 4580 US\n\n +1 253 205 0468 US\n\n +1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma)\n\n +1 346 248 7799 US (Houston)\n\n +1 360 209 5623 US\n\n +1 386 347 5053 US\n\n +1 507 473 4847 US\n\n +1 564 217 2000 US\n\n +1 669 444 9171 US\n\nMeeting ID: 845 1491 8084\n\nFind your local number: https://us02web.zoom.us/u/kgQZKKwvi
