In this role\, he is responsible for the operation and security of all Information Technology supporting 6\,000 employees at four hospitals and thirty-two clinics in New York and Pennsylvania. Prior to this role\, Ed served as the Chief Information Security Officer for The University of Texas System. In that role\, he was responsible for the information security management program which provided oversight to eight academic and six healthcare institutions across the State of Texas. The University of Texas System encompasses a user base of almost half a million people\, including 90\,000 staff and faculty as well as 350\,000 students.\n\nEd spent 24 years in the Army\, retiring as a Colonel in 2015. His last assignment was as the Chief of Information Assurance (Cybersecurity) at the Pentagon. In this role\, Colonel Mattison served as a senior cybersecurity advisor to the Secretary of the Army and the lead IT security inspector general. Other career highlights include serving as the Enterprise Network and Data Services Manager in Iraq (during the height of Operation Iraqi Freedom)\, two assignments as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at West Point\, and twice commanding Air Defense Artillery companies.\n\nEd graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1991\, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
