DESCRIPTION:April 28\, 2017\n\n5:00   8:00 p.m.*\n\nFree and open to the public \n\n\n\n*15-minute performances beginning at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nThe Rockwell gets theatrical for April with an encore performance by Corning Community College Students! \n\n\n\nMeet the eternal Andy Warhol who will be roaming through the museum\, as well as his art (which will speak for itself). Quite literally\, the subjects of Warhols "Cowboys and Indians" series of paintings will appear in human form to speak to you. President Theodore Roosevelt\, Markswoman Annie Oakley\, and Movie Star John Wayne will introduce themselves in their own words. This performance is an ode to these American heroes by painting a true picture on who these people truly are inside and out by not hiding the good\, the bad\, or the ugly.\n\n\n\nThis historical vignette is written and performed by Corning Community College students Joseph Davis (Presidential Scholar)\, Andrew Fish\, Anita Slater and Trevor Brown. The performance is part of a course taught by Professor Mary Guzzy   CCC partnered with The Rockwell to bring this new Student-Artist-in-Residence program to life. Davis researched\, developed and wrote a short historical vignette inspired by five of the Andy Warhol silkscreens in The Rockwell collection.\n\n\n\nWhat is Urban Arts Crawl?\n\n\n\nThe Urban Arts Crawl celebrates the burgeoning\, unique art scene in historic Downtown Corning\, each month presenting distinct artists\, exhibitions\, and cultural experiences. A self-guided\, art-centric trail held on the final Friday of each month (September through May)\, The Crawl includes stops at internationally acclaimed museums\, community art centers and independent galleries alike.\n\n\n\nArtist talks\, demonstrations\, exhibition openings\, modern dance performances\, public art projects\, live music\, craft beverage tastings and more make The Crawl a truly festive and diverse experience. Whether you're a seasoned art collector or just out to see something different\, the Urban Arts Crawl in Corning will delight your creative side.\n\n\n\nEach month\, Urban Corning wraps up the evening for the post-crawl meet-up! Plan to spend your evening on Historic Market Street with various social opportunities at local bars and restaurants post-crawl.
