Found in archaeological sites and burial caches, and traded globally for centuries, glass beads have always been objects of value and power. This exhibition shows, for the first time, the large historical glass bead collection of The Corning Museum of Glass. It explores beadwork of various cultures, and shows the use of glass beads and bead-decorated objects—not only as ornament, but also as objects that hold power to the owner, society, and the world. Included in Museum admission. For more information, call (800) 732-6845 or (607) 937-5371, or visit www.cmog.org.
