THE ORCHESTRA OF THE SOUTHERN FINGER LAKES ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR CORE POSITIONS
Section Violin, Section Viola, Section Bass,
Principal Bassoon, Principal Trumpet and Section Trumpet
The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, OSFL, will hold auditions on Sept. 24, 2022. The auditions will
consist of prepared solo or concerto and provided list of orchestral excerpts.
Interested and experienced musicians should provide a one-page résumé and a deposit check for $50, made
payable to Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes. Send application materials to the Personnel Manager at
address below.
The application deadline is Saturday, September 10, 2022. Once you have applied for an
audition, a link to the required excerpts will be sent to you via email. Audition times will be scheduled after
the September 10 deadline with information sent to applicants via email shortly thereafter. Checks will be
returned on the audition day to those who perform. Applications will not be considered complete until both
resume and check are received. Applicants may cancel their audition prior to September 10, without penalty.
The winner(s) will be ready and willing to perform at the rehearsals and concerts indicated below for the
2022-23 season. If a current OSFL member fills any position, the subsequent vacancy will be filled from
qualified remaining applicants. The field of candidates will be narrowed by use of résumé if we receive more
applicants than we can reasonably hear. Pay rates will be calculated using the Orchestra’s standard amount
for the chair in which the winner would be seated. The OSFL pays either driver or rider mileage to and from
the performer’s home address, with a reasonable cap on those funds.
