    Job Title: Support Staff Reports to: Center Manager
    Hours / Status: 5-10 +/- hours/week (evenings and Saturday availability required)
    Wage: $13/hour
     
    Position Summary: Our center is looking for a caring individual who has a passion for families with young children to serve as a center support staff. 

    General Responsibilities: Promotes learning through play within the Center for both children and adults via the creation of a comfortable, welcoming, supporting, educating, and clean environment at all times.

    Organization Overview: The Nonnie Hood Parent Resource Center (PRC) is an independent 501(3) c organization with a mission to help families with young children play, learn and connect with others in a welcoming and encouraging environment. Our primary programs are a drop-in center for families with young children, short term drop-off childcare & camps, and parent education classes. The Nurturing Connections Supervised Visitation Program serves families who have been required by Family Court to receive supervised visitation. The key services provided by this program are: (a) a safe, supervised, welcoming space for non-custodial parents to visit with their children during private PRC hours at our drop-in center; (b) parent education classes for noncustodial parents; and (c) feedback to the Family Court as needed through documentation of visit observations.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Maintains cleanliness and maintenance of the Center during business hours, as well as performing heavier cleaning duties while closed to the public.

    2. Welcomes and engages all clients, as well as registering and orienting new families, serving as a host to all.

    3. Acts as a resource to Center Manager in all matters regarding the Center, planning, organizing, and carrying out assignments/tasks as assigned in a consistently, quality manner. Assignment/tasks may include but may not be limited to the following: assistance with the development and implementation of Center educational activities and programming, proper handling and documenting of payments, provision of appropriate referrals and accurate information to clients and the documentation of such, assistance with database and data entry, tracking and reporting, assistance with fund development events and the provision of overall customer service.

    4. Initiates, interacts and models developmentally appropriate activities and best practices to families.

    5. Cooperates with quality assurance measures such as audits and observation.

    6. Functions as a strong participant in team building efforts and leads by example.

    7. Attends staff meetings and training sessions as appropriate..

    8. Supports volunteers, including assistance with volunteer training as needed.

    Qualifications Education/Experience
     High school diploma, GED or higher
     Relevant work experience
     NY State Mandated Reporter certification required at start of employment; other relevant professional training/certification preferred at time of hire but may be acquired after
     Understanding and support of the PRC’s mission, vision and services Key Skills
     Ability to work well with people, including adults, children and community partners
     Ability to promote learning through play and a welcoming social environment
