Randi Hewit Guest Post: FLX Gives

On November 15th, 2019, nonprofit organizations from throughout the community will come together to hold a region wide, 24-hour, day of giving, called FLXGives! November 15th also happens to be National Philanthropy Day, a unique opportunity to highlight how we can all work together and build a stronger sense of community through philanthropy. At the stroke of midnight on November 15th, donors can go to the FLXGives website and search for their favorite nonprofit or search by a cause that matters most to them. (You can actually head over there now and start making a list of your favorites!). Donors will then be connected with nonprofits working hard to support our neighbors in Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties.

There are a few ways to donate to FLXGives. Individuals can make a donation to one nonprofit or several nonprofits through a shopping cart option. Individuals are also encouraged to form teams to support a nonprofit through peer-to-peer fundraising. Gifts of any size, will support programs in the arts and the environment, kids and animals, food pantries and the homeless (and so many more!) that will enhance the quality of life for us all.

Those interested in joining FLXGives as a registered nonprofit can go to www.flxgives.org to learn more. Individuals wishing to register as a peer-to-peer fundraiser may also register on the website.
