Behind the Glass: Anna Mlasowsky
Anna Mlasowsky focuses her curiosity on studying the traditions and habits of glassmaking. “The way we evaluate a material and use its properties is defined by preconceived opinions and boundaries set by traditions,” said Mlasowsky. Her work seeks to challenge pre-formed behaviors and raise questions about reality and projection.
In her lecture, Anna Mlasowsky will discuss her work and its relationship to the work she created during her recent Specialty Glass Residency at Sullivan Park, Corning Incorporated’s global research and development center, where she focused on an exclusive process using proprietary glasses developed by Corning scientists.
Museum Members at the Donor level and above ($135+) are invited to come early for a private reception at 5:30 pm. Please RSVP by February 5 to +1 (607) 438-5600 or membership@cmog.org. Become a Member today!
The Specialty Glass Residency is a joint program of The Corning Museum of Glass and Corning Incorporated that supports artists in exploring the use of specialty glass materials to inform their body of work.
All lectures are free and open to the public. Watch past Behind the Glass lectures on our YouTube Channel.
