National Geographic Greatest Photographs of the American West
The romance—and reality—of the American West in real-time will be on display in National Geographic Greatest Photographs of the American West at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art in Corning, New York. The show, which is simultaneously on view at nine other museum across the United States, presents for the first time in one exhibition, an unprecedented collection of iconic images of the West created by 83 National Geographic photographers over a span of some 125 years. It includes images by such well-known names as William Henry Jackson and Ansel Adams. National Geographic Greatest Photographs of the American West represents the first time a photography exhibition of this magnitude has opened at so many United States venues simultaneously. The exhibition presents a powerful and nuanced portrait of the West over more than a century, and the medium of photography allows multiple openings across the country for greater impact in sharing the combined vision of such an important group of photographers. Included in Museum admission.
