The Art of the Toe-Up Sock Knitting

Join us for an immersive, two-session workshop where you’ll learn the efficient way to knit socks: Toe-Up. Knitting from the toe up allows you to try on your sock as you go, ensuring a perfect fit every time. Whether you want to focus on one sock at a time or tackle "Two-at-a-Time" to beat second-sock syndrome, Sara will walk you through each row with expert tips and tricks.

·       Seamless Beginnings: Learn Jenny’s Magic Cast-On for a smooth, comfortable toe.

·       The Short Row Heel: Navigate a sleek, sturdy heel construction  

·       Reading Your Stitches: Gain the confidence to identify your place in a pattern and understand your fabric.

·       Custom Sizing: Use your shoe size to calculate dimensions for a comfortable fit.

·       One or Two at a Time: Focus on one sock or, if your needles are long enough (40" recommended), learn how to knit both simultaneously!

?? Class Details

·       When: Two Sessions | Saturday, Feb 21 & Saturday, March 14*

·       Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

·       Skill Level: Comfortable with knitting in the round.

*Your homework between lessons is to knit the foot and be ready to knit the heel at the 3/14 class.

?? Materials Needed (not included in class fee)

·       Needles: US 1 (2.25mm). Use whatever style you are comfortable with: DPNs, 8” circulars, Magic Loop (40" for two-at-a-time), Flexi-Flips, or two circulars.

·       Yarn: One skein of fingering/sock weight yarn. We ask that you purchase your yarn from us for this class. We have 3 sock yarn lines to choose from.

·       Information: Please know your shoe size!

Pre-Class Preparation: We invite you to visit the shop before the first session to select your needles and yarn. This allows us time to order your supplies, if needed, and wind your yarn so you can start knitting right away!
